Post Elections, Baghdad Has Been Witnessing a Campaign of Assassinations, Intimidation and Terror on the Eve of the Election Results

 

After the elections and a lot of promises made to people regarding providing better basic services, the people of Karrada and Adhamya districts in Baghdad have been cut off of electricity and water as a fulfillment of those promises! The people of the area called on the government to intervene to restore services to the region.

Also, people have witnessed government contractors vandalizing the water pipeline in Althawra district.  It is believed that these acts came as a campaign against those who did not vote for the lists of the Islamic Supreme Council and Dawa Party, headed by al-Maliki

In addition, people of Karrada district have witnessed shootings using sound proof guns at passers-by, which resulted in the killing of five innocents and wounding six others, all of whom were civilians.

Those operations are being carried out while waiting for the election results and are considered part of attempts by a number of forces that ran for the office, to impose their slates on the results of the recent elections.
