IFC Initiative Is Broadly Welcomed By Press and People

After being contacted by the groups opposing the results of December 15 elections to gain support, IFC had issued its statement through its secretary general Samir Adil who made the IFC stand and initiative clear.

In the demonstration organized today in Baghdad by the groups opposing the results of the election, thousands of copies of the IFC initiative were distributed and even many demonstrators spontaneously begun distributing the initiative and some stated that they will take it to the city of Fallujah and Ramadi west of Iraq to distribute there.

As a result, many local and international media and press conducted interviews with the leaders of IFC including Qasim Hadi the secretary general of Union of Unemployed in Iraq, and executive board member who stated that the solution presented by the conflicting groups will not bring any safety or security. Besides IFC had warned of the consequences of the elections in the eve of that event stated that the situations will deescalate because the election did not meet any standard. He added that IFC and out of its responsibility has established an operation centre to convert its initiative into reality and make the other groups to commit and adhere to it.
