IFC Statement about the Referendum Fiasco Finally the results of the referendum on the draft constitution are declared to the interest of the occupation and it’s appointed ethno-religious government. The result was already known even in the eve of the referendum. Also the US secretary of state Condoleezza Rice on the same day of the referendum had announced the success of the draft without even waiting for the result to be unfolded. The US administration have utilized all its efforts, used all (Fatwa) religious orders, paid for all speeches in the Mosques, intensified its military actions to launch an aggressive attack against civilians in different cities in Iraq prior to the referendum, and lastly rigged the process by falsifying the results through their agents, and religious militias who were overseeing the process. The referendum is another episode of the US scenario in Iraq to pass the occupation and daily crimes policies, and legitimize the appointed and installed government brought by US occupation and its allies on the other hand. The constitution that is blessed by the mass media is actually the declaration of degrading human being, violating his rights, and classifying him base on his ethnicity and religious background, disregarding all international human rights conventions. In addition this constitution will pave the way to a civil war that burns, destroy, and kill whoever it reaches. Iraqi people… The announced result will not change the current political and security situations; however it deepens the ethnic and religious conflict. These conditions will not discontinue without you taking your matter into your own hands and empowering your revolutionary will, because there is no peace with the occupation continues. Iraq Freedom Congress leading the struggle to end the occupation. Joining its ranks is the way to a prosperous, free and secure society. Your non-participation in the fiasco of referendum which corresponded to the IFC stand point and in compliance to its call have proven your resentment and rejection to the occupation and its crimes, to the ethno-religious groups and the sectarian constitution. Your stand today has stunned those groups in the entire country. Your stand is another step to intensify you’re struggle to boot out the occupation, dissolve its infrastructure, and establishing a non ethnic, non religious state where people are defined based on their human identity.
